    Why is redeeming for statement credit not the same rate as any other option? All the credit cards that I’ve used always have the same rate for all redemption options… Maybe they are hoping that people would just blindly redeem it like that, effectively reducing the “cashback” below 3%

    • @DannyFisher-l1n
      @DannyFisher-l1n 18 годин тому

      I think because to offset the 3 percent, if you redeem the funds in the brokerage they can make money on cash sweep for uninvested cash or PFOF if you buy stocks. It helps them keep money on the platform, and make money on the generous cash back rate.

    • @EricK-vw5wh
      @EricK-vw5wh 14 годин тому

      Fidelity is the same way with their 2% cash back credit card. You only get the full 2% if you deposit it into an eligible Fidelity account. You get less if used for statement credit. Its about the brokerage making money off the rewards too. Or look at it as the cost to the brokerage for providing the benefit is less. They recoup more cost by you having that in your brokerage account. Either by you transacting (buying stock) or interest on cash. In Robinhoods case, your cash earns more than 5% at the sweep bank. Robinhood takes a cut and you get the remaining 5%.

    For the niche this card hits, it does it pretty well. While cash back folks could do this, it took way too many steps to get the cash, transfer to bank account, then deposit to brokerage and start investing. You just did all that with a swipe. For folks that invest this is a winner. For folks that comp'd for work expense....this is a home run.

    Some can do the math but assuming you get 3% back then that 3% gets 5% then it's like 3.0000005% cashback. Wow Robinhood is so generous. Oh that extra .000005% needs to stay there for the year to get the full value.

    I initially set up an HSA with my insurance provider about 3 years ago, and realized they had some pretty bad investment option (actively managed fund with 0.6% fee and such, $1000 minimum per investment, and a $1500 minimum cash balance or something). So the next year I moved my HSA to fidelity. It turned out I don't have to use the HSA account provided by the insurance provider. The draw back is I don't get to take FICA deduction since I am making my own contribution instead having my employer taking it directly out of my pay check. I heard the HSA my insurance provider was recently improved (now with SPDR funds and $500 cash minimum). Maybe it is worth it for me to recreate an HSA account with my insurance provider, but story for another day I guess. I personally use the save receipts and pay my self back method you mentioned when managing this account. (Still haven’t made a distribution yet, and don’t plan on doing it anytime soon). Amazon and Costco also listed the amount of HSA/FSA eligible amount at the end of the receipts so I save those too. I do think HSA should be an account more people should know about. Even during my HR open enrollment thing, when I told I would be managing my HSA account at fidelity since their investment options were not that good, the agent assisted me was like YoU cAn Do ThAt? Definitely a more complex account, like I didn’t know about the FICA deduction limitation and also somehow you can’t deduct against California state income tax?? Lots of hoops to jump through, but given the triple tax benefit it is really worth the effort to me. Thank you for letting more people know about HSA, and a lot of the other nitty gritty details on financial products in other videos that many other channels don’t cover. SPEED!

    I appreciate your perspective on neobanks and fintech companies. Traditional banks have a long history and strong regulations, but some might lack the agility and tech-driven approach of neobanks. Evolve was adding an unnecessary layer between customers and banks. The Yotta situation highlights the importance of trust and robust cybersecurity measures in these newer companies. Neobanks often operate on tighter margins compared to established banks. This can impact factors like interest rates and potentially increase risk. People should be cautious when chasing high yields offered by new institutions. There's a trade-off between potential rewards and established security. Yotta's yield wasn't even that good when you compare it to other options. Marcus by Goldmans has a high yield savings that yields 4.4% Personally, Fidelity's hybrid cash management account is a great option I use. Fidelity has a great value proposition as an established player offering innovative solutions. I had my fair share if allocating a limited amount of money to explore new financial options. It allowed me to experiment with potentially higher returns while minimizing risk. I lost a few hundred of dollars trying out Celsius. Consider your priorities when choosing a financial institution. Legacy banks offer experience and security, while neobanks might provide innovation and potentially higher yields. Do your research, understand the risks, and choose an option that aligns with your financial goals and risk tolerance.

I hope prizepool finds a new partner bank to use as I really like prizepool. Doubtful anyone will want to do business with evolve after this hack. Even though my data was stolen I'm still happy that it happened to evolve for the negative impact it will have on their business. Plus my data has already been hacked before from multiple other companies so as much as I dislike it my SSN has been out there from other companies failure to safeguard our data. Most of the HSA companies charge fees for investing such as HealthEquity. What I found out last year is you can make transfers from one HSA to another HSA. If you have a high deductible health plan and meet the qualifications you can setup an HSA independent from the company your employer selected. The SPEED of transfers is slow but now I've got a second HSA with Fidelity that I can transfer the contributions from the employer sponsored HSA and do my investing without all the extra fees.

    Hey, heads up! PrizePool just sent out an email that Evolve Bank and Trust had their data leaked! I just changed my passwords but that’s not good. That bank doesn’t seem very secure..

    Thank you for sharing this video, much appreciated! I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both ALSO most importantly, Thank you sir TOMAS CALEZ ANTONIO , for introducing me to YOUR platform since I joined this your trading network I have got back all the funds I lose from other platform and still gaining my profits off the market trends, thank you I really appreciate it. it's near impossible to not out-perform the market hassles, been using my advisor for over 3years+ and I've netted a good reasonable amount of profits

    If you have extra cash sitting in a bank account or elsewhere, you can transfer it to robinhood to earn interest. It will help you pay for gold membership and you have extra income. You have your money available for investing when you see opportunity.

    I remember when HSA were first offered, I worked in HR benefits, and I was like this seems like crap. Now I am like this is Awesome!!! We both have one with our employer and finally I had enough in mine for investing and it's been great!

    I applied about a month or two ago, and on 6/20/24 I received an email that my card was here. I applied, got approved, and immediately used the card by adding it to my Apple wallet. It told me my card would be delivered by July 1st, and after a few days changed to 6/24/2024. So I literally only waited a few days AND I applied for it on a Saturday. So far everything about it I love. I did extensive research on the Apple Card and the Gold Card and decided to go with RH. I'm happy with my decision so far!

    My question is why would you pick this bank over other Banks like Chase, US BANK KeyBank?

  • @bdonovable
    @bdonovable 4 дні тому

    So does HSA can just stay as part of your account set-up even after you transition into a more traditional insurance plan? If so wouldn't it make sense to get one for at least one year (if you were on the fence) so that you would always have the account there? You wouldn't be able to contribute anymore I guess, but you'd still be able to invest the existing amount, right?

    • @ClownCash
      @ClownCash 3 дні тому

      Right, but most people aren’t planning to “transition” to a traditional plan. They’re keeping it and maxing out year after year

    Best way in my opinion to use a HSA. Is to invest the money let it grow . So when you get older you don’t have to pull from retirement accounts to pay for medical bills. Great video
